Pictures from Luke's U/W Camera

Ok, so my first roll didn't turn out how I imagined, but I managed to grab these photos.

Below is a photo of Luke at The Shores. Blue water there instead of green is pretty rare. Click here for more photos.

Congratulations Cat

Congratulations to Cat on her new job back at Petco. She deserved a new car, so she got one! It's a 2001 Saab 9-3 SE. I spent a good part of the day today washing, polishing, waxing, rain-x'ing, armor-all'ing & windex'ing. Of course after all that work it had to rain one final time. At least I get to see the benefit of the wax & rain-x right away.

Here's some pictures.

Monterey Pictures with Disposable UW Camera

Here's Luke shooting video in Monterey at Monastary Beach. Notice that the water is blue, not the typical green you see in San Diego. It was a bit colder though, about 51 degrees on average.

2006-02 Rebreather Trip via Monterey

Ok, so three guys walk into a bar...

Greg, Luke & I left Friday morning heading North with all our gear in Greg's truck. Stopped in SLO (San Luis Obispo) for lunch and made it to Monterey later in the afternoon. Found the only local brew pub nearby (actually in Marina) and made some friends there.

Saturday we woke up and headed a little South to Monastary Beach for a couple of great dives. Later in the day we toured around town and found this underground British pub/restaurant for dinner (see picture below).

At five AM Sunday morning we woke up, packed the truck again & headed North to San Carlos (just South of San Fransisco) to Wallins Dive Center for our rebreather experience. We left for SD around 6:30 PM & high-tailed it all the way back.

We're Outta' Here

We left on an afternoon flight to Seattle on Friday for a fun weekend skiing and hanging out with good friends. Erik & Jen picked us up from the airport & we got to see their new house for the first time (it's awesome!). We took a lot of pictures on the trip, so I split them into four parts.

The pictures are here. Posted by Picasa

We're Going Skiing (Snowboarding)!

We woke up the next morning, shook off the late night before & packed the Jeep and headed for Stevens Pass for a day at the slopes. The weather was phenominal if not a little cold, but there was plenty of snow & we all had a great time. Posted by Picasa

Sushi Dinner at the Blockhus' House

We finished up skiing and headed to Uwajimaya for some fresh fish, then back home. Dinner turned out awesome! These pictures are here.

Back to San Diego

So we headed back to San Diego after a great weekend with friends. It was nice to get back and see Koa & Duke and relax a little before heading back into the real world (work).

2006 Mammoth Trip

2006-01-22:
Just arrived back from a great weekend at Mammoth Mountain (www.mammothmountain.com). Cath & I had a great time, although we're a little sore. The six hour drive was well worth it. It's really nice to be in the snowy mountains for a weekend having fun, especially when you can come back to warm & sunny San Diego.

Pictures are here.

The Yukon is a 366 foot Canadian destroyer brought to San Diego for the purpose of sinking and creating an artificial reef for wildlife & divers (if there is a difference).

The Yukon sunk prematurely when it was towed out to it's final resting place because large swells that evening entered the large holes cut in the side of the ship. As a result the ship is sitting on it's port side on the sand, instead of upright as was intended (oops).
